The weather has been so funny these last few days here. And by funny I mostly mean cold and winter like. I couldn’t believe it yesterday when I actually saw snow coming down. Thankfully, none of it has been sticking or anything, and I think it is a little warmer today. I’m not sure that I am ready for winter yet!
This week I went to a lecture given by a man who was formerly a government official in Colombia. He was kidnapped and eventually had to flee the country with his family, and now works for Lutheran World Relief here in the United States. His story was really interesting, and it was good to learn more about what is really going on in other parts of the world. It is easy to forget, living here in this community, that there are people suffering and working for the rights that we often seem to take for granted. I am really glad I went to the lecture.
Next week is going to be really full for me, as I have 4 papers due in different classes. I am really going to have to work hard this weekend to keep up. I think Fall Break will come just in time.
