Coming and Going on Greasy Goodness Posted on November 3rd, 2003 by

Hello from the two Greasy Ghouls and the Krisco Kid!

The Pacific Ocean is ten times as beautiful when you reach it travelling on WASTE VEGETABLE OIL!

So the last you heard from us, we were in Boise, Idaho dancing with Walmart security in the middle of the night. We headed north to Lewiston, where Phil worked for the Nature Conservancy this past summer. Go to Lewiston for the cheap microbrews and tacos (all for a buck!)…don’t go for the grease. Most of it is just sludge and the one Chinese restaurant with potential doesn’t have an electrical outlet apparently. Yeah, sure.

Walla Walla, Washington. That’s all dried up. Not a drop of oil. But Portland, ahh the sweet golden nectar of P-town, Oregon. We are in love with a particular Japanese waitress who let us filter nearly 20 gallons. She checked on us every 15 minutes, probably just to get a good laugh.

Do you think that just because we spent our birthdays hovering around grease bins and Walmart parking lots that we didn’t have some more fun for Halloween? There was an incredible party thrown by our fellow Gustie, Annie Jesperson, and her housemates in the NW Jesuit Volunteer Corps. Phil pranced around as Seamus, the Scotish highlander with a purple beard and a thriftstore-bought plaid mini-skirt…err kilt. Aaron maintained a 3 foot bubble around him since he had duct taped butterknives to his hands and shaved disturbingly large sideburns in an attempt to resemble Wolverine from X-men. We’ll try to get some pictures out to prove the ridiculousness.

Speaking of pictures, check out the Gustavus website to see a few pictures of us and the Krisco Kid. Go to http://www.gustavus.edu/news/ and you can even catch up on our past emails.

Now we’re headed north along Hwy 101 to camp somewhere near Olympic National Park and visit friends in Seattle. Then we’re heading south…ASAP…it’s getting chilly up here and the grease is all starting to turn into butter.

That’s all for now,
Phil and Aaron
