Veggie Tales: Part 3 Posted on October 26th, 2003 by

Hi friends,

That nondescript subject line is to give those of you who have been throwing us out with the junk mail one last chance to experience the joy of the Krisco Kid Club. We may be greasy but we’re NOT garbage!

Try to guess where we are:

Aaron: “Weird, are those bison chips falling out of the back of that truck?” (as he swerves to miss some “prairie pies”)
Phil: “You big-haired, greasy freak…those are POTATOES!”

Yep, we’re in Idaho.

That means that to the amazement of all you skeptics, the 1.6 L engine of the Krisco Kid has made it across both Wyoming and Idaho and over THREE mountain passes. To our chagrin, we discovered that the Bighorn pass slowed us down to a respectable 25 mph. Several cyclists passed us on the way up. However, we were still further amazed on the Teton pass when we were smoked by a 3 year old on a tricycle. Well, at least driving in 1st gear at 15 mph not only prevents you from hitting deer…it’s impossible to catch up to them.

Other important events:
1. Betty the blasted bison hide is out of our hands! And we’re NOT picking it up on the way back (sorry Matt).
2. We have filtered 22 gallons of grease on the road – at a mexican restaurant in Jackson and a chinese diner in Boise. We need showers.
3. We celebrated our birthdays (Phil, Oct 24 and Aaron Oct 25), by watching the World Series in a Boise bar with a dinner of popcorn and beer. We then decided to splurge on some luxury and sleep the night in the back of the truck in the Walmart parking lot. That would have been fine, except for the 18 inches of head height and the idiot with the RV next to us who locked himself out in the middle of the night and when he tried to crawl back in someone notified the cops. The Boise P.D. responded with 5 squad cars that surrounded our parking spaces. Moral of the story: don’t approach officers in the middle of the night in your skivvies. To our mothers: no worries, they said we were perfectly legal and go back to sleep.

All we gotta say is,
Time to make a run for the coast!

Aaron and Phil
